Client Assistance Program

Who is eligible for CAP services?
The Client Assistance Program (CAP) is a free statewide network of skilled advocates that assist New Yorkers with disabilities in getting the training, equipment and services needed for employment. CAP advocates assist New Yorkers who apply for or receive services from Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID) or the Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped (CBVH).

What services do we provide?
Disability Advocates does not generally provide direct representation under CAP. Disability Advocates assists CAP advocates in the following counties: Albany, Clinton (CBVH only), Columbia, Essex (CBVH only), Franklin (CBVH only), Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren and Washington.

How do I receive CAP services?
Individuals seeking assistance under CAP should contact the appropriate regional CAP office, which are listed below. Please do not contact us directly for assistance with CAP issues.
